My cousins wife is having treatment for BC at the moment. It's hideous.

Same as now, I'd carry using your wife's nipples!

But you're a total ignoramus. The medical profession does not advise pretty radical surgery as a preventative measure unless there is a very good reason.

If you look around there are many blogs online written by women having chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy for breast cancer. The effects on the body are truly horrendous, and much more severe than those of surgery.

And many of those blogs are no longer updated, as none of the available therapies are guaranteed to result in a cure.

And you'll also find ones which had apparently reached a happy ending several years ago but have had to be re-opened due to the cancer returning. And some of those are no longer updated.

Preemptive surgery seems like a drastic step, but prevention is better than cure.

Aye, but sometimes ignorance is bliss.
Would you want to be tested for the gene?

Are you serious? Getting your tits operated on is worse than dying of liver/brain/lung cancer? Having chemotherapy (many, many side effects including - potentially - osteoporosis) is a walk in the park?

                  You, sir, are a f***wit.
