I don't know if I am the only one - but I find a lot of these posts quite openly racist. True there are issues with Bradford and some of the Asian culture but the rants in here show a lot of intolerance and are not going to solve any of the problems being ranted about....

I personally think the mods should do something about this.

      1. Have you ever been to Bradford - do you have any experience of the city unlike some of the posters who have lived / worked there
      2. What is racist on this thread and what is actual fact (PS at one of the Asian festivals held in the city attended by many of differing cultures, one of the most popular items being sold was a T-shirt with the slogan "Born in Bradistan" which many of the youths of Pakistan origin were buying and wearing.

But if nobody can ever mention the real problems we are just going to carry on adding to them. This silence over legitimate concerns has gone on for far too many decades. If there is growing preducidice against the decent migrants it is because of a very lax system that is letting in far too many unsuitable people of the same ethnicity.

If it was all about racism, we would see similar comments on Chinese or Indian Hindus or Sikhs. It isn't, it's about legitimate objection to real problems that disproportionately exist within certain minority groups and the solution is to have far stricter immigration checks on individuals. People who do not speak good English, do not believe in a secular society, who have any serious existing medical conditions or are within a million miles of needing welfare or social housing should not be here. Full stop.

          What? Stifle free speech?

If a place in the uk resembles the back streets of Karachi I think there is something wrong and Im going to say so.

Personally I dont want any part of my country to be like that.

A mate used to live in Luton as a student. He thought that the main problem were the various gangs that considered themselves to be above the law that applies to everyone else and had a special law that applied to them.

If you were not a part of that gang then you were at risk of a verbal and violent abuse whenever you were seen by them. He had several altercations, one of which involved a car full of them trying to run him over before he managed to run down a footpath that was too narrow for the car.

Over three years this gang seemed to be expanding it's numbers and geographical presence and causing a lot of stress to any non gang members that they came across. If the police ever arrested any of them they immediately made a complaint over racism and insisted that the police were picking on them, hence the police seemed to rarely do anything as it was too much hassle for them to get involved.

This gang happened to be a Muslim one but that is irrelevant, what was deplorable was they way they acted and what was frustrating was how powerless the police seemed to be to stop them.

FWIW, according to the 2011 Census Leicester has a white population (not just English, but all white) of 50.6%, which is the lowest in the UK. India, Pakistan and Bangladesh have contributed 31.8% of the population, which is the highest in the UK.

However we don't seem to have the huge problems* some in this thread are asserting exist in Bradford, so our situation doesn't provide much traction for racism. Maybe that's why we get ignored in these discussions?

*Note to racist idiots: I didn't say we have no problems, so don't try to wriggle out of it by asserting that I did, or providing examples which you think, incorrectly, prove me wrong and you right.

The problems seemed to be more caused by gang culture?

Places like Bradford and Luton seem to be places where gangs have taken deep root and gained enough numbers to be a problem.

During the B'ford/Burnley riots it was rooted back to gangs and drugs: one chappie out of prison wanted his old patch back - que fists at dawn

Dont think is entirely race related when Turf Moor (Burnley FC) had to give the away crowd a 15min head start to the train station ahead of the locals - they loved it, sick!

The gov are chucking 10mil at Accrington housing estates; another 'quaint' hellhole with building resentment.

What a moron. We are taking about the demographics of a city, i.e. it's statistical make up. The fact the place is a dump isn't necessarily connected. Both are factual, no one has said anything racist yet.

It's do gooders like you that are the problem. As soon as you talk about colour you play the racist card. Talking about colour and make up is not racist.

We could have the same discussion about large council estates. Buttershaw is the worst dump I have had the misfortune of seeing which is also in Bradford and the only thing that has ever come out of there is Rita Sue and Bob Too. Same thing but there isn't a word like racism that covers this to hide behind.

Very true but I think again Leicester is big enough to have something good out of it be it industry, sport, standard of living etc. The fact George Gallaway is MP in Bradford doesn't say much either I am afraid. Maybe it is a perception and marketing thing but it is the first place people think off for some reason.
