How do you cook Christmas dinner?

Standard 4 rings and one oven. What goes where and when?

I do it every year and every year I end up writing a new schedule of what needs to go where and when.

I don't. I'm in charge of the drinks/kids/dogs/relatives while Mrs Albert performs her magic in the kitchen.

By the time I've got all kids/dogs/relatives suitably pissed, the food arrives and all is well.

I cook the sprouts and parboil the (roast) spuds in the microwave, if that helps?

0. Preheat oven.
1. Put bird in oven. Switch on oven. Note time required to cook bird and add 5-10 minutes.
2. Subtract time required to roast potatoes from 1.
3. Set timer to result of 2.
4. Prepare veg and parboil potatoes.
5. When timer dings add potatoes to oven and start cooking veg.
6. Reset timer to time required to cook potatoes. Veg should be cooked within this time.
7. Timer dings again. Bird ready, potatoes ready, veg ready.

Soak bird upside down in brine for 24 hours beforehand

Don't forget to baste frequently.
