Perhaps it's you who needs to do the reading. You see - religion teaches you not to respond to bad with bad. I could easily slag you off in return to what you said. Christianity says turn the other cheek, Islam says treat bad with good. If everybody implemented these simple ideals then the world would be a much better place. The fact it is used as a political tool or abused by extremists does not mean to say that Jesus is evil for example, or that the bible is against progression. You tell me where Christianity or Islam tells us not to progress.

Do you think Christianity or Islam was the first place that this concept was stated? These religions are just reworked from older cultures. The turn the other cheek is an ideal that doesn't and will never work in reality.

For a start most of the big religions preach exclusivity, so only one can be true? Secondly they are based on ancient texts of fiction non backed up with any evidence (regarding the claims of supernatural power). Religion bring nothing but war, poverty, ignorance, abuse and misery to humanity.
