Indeed. Nothing sells more papers to Middle England than those perpetuating the notion that big bad Islam is out to somehow slaughter their infants whilst they sleep!
Good God, you're right, I'll have to add that to the list. Now I am worried!
do we need a 10,000 seat (or floor) capacity mosque?
is that a shock?
There is no such thing a planning permission for a mosque. A mosque falls under the same planning category as a church or community hall. Most mosques get planning permission for a community hall and then quite legally use it as a mosque. The problem occurs when it is it used five times a day unlike once a week like a church. The law never envisaged this.

Churches in this country were mostly built long ago and people moving into the area know what the deal is and what the usage is.
New Mosques do not have that luxury and it can have as much of an impact on the streets in the area as a supermarket being built. I think the solution is to tell them to move their day of prayer to a weekend day and if they do not like it tell them they are intolerant of our society. Problem solved.

Most of the churches that I see around here are in use 7 days a week - they have nursery schools in them during the day, uniformed organisations or church activities in the evenings, kiddies parties etc on saturdays and the church members on Sundays.

Really?
The Evangelicals have been going around London converting old cinemas and bingo halls into Churches.
People who used the cinemas and bingo halls generally use to travel by public transport unfortunately church goers can't be guaranteed to do this.
In my area we have had to threaten two of the local churches with bringing in longer parking restrictions to cover evenings and Sundays due to their inconsiderate behaviour. It's worked - they know if they p*ss all of us off we will lobby the council so they can't park at all in a 1.5 mile radius on a Sunday.

as I said, the temple's seem to have the parking sorted, maybe Islam & evangelical strains need to pay attention.

To be honest you have always sounded like a slapper with loose morals.
