    Boomed

I've been at my current role (inside IR35) for almost 2 years: 3 months + 3 months + 5 months + 6 months + 6 months. I've just accepted a 12 month extension, so this will be my longest contract to date. I'm staying at the same rate, so in one sense it's a pay cut (given the imminent changes to...

    Unbenched

**** me. Managed to get a gig six years out of doing **** all apart from my own Amazon business and spending 3 weeks looking having just updated my CV. Won;t go into details but was able to use AI and online training courses to rapidly accelerate a whole bunch of learning on new applications /...

Neil Ferguson said the effect appeared to be "'real' and the R number could now be slightly below one" "I'm positive that by late September, October time, we will be looking back at most of the pandemic,' he said. 'We'll still have Covid with us, we'll still have people dying from Covid, but...

New "outside" contract, modest rate increase on existing. I suppose I should feel euphoric but I actually feel exhausted and stressed, it's not easy finding outside contracts at the moment and the thought of going permie or inside makes me nauseous - I may be allergic.

    US Stock Market Boom

It's been a great rally, but I've started taking profits now. Fear & Greed Index - Investor Sentiment - CNNMoney A lot of greed in the market at the moment.

    DOOM: House prices

“ In a report, the think tank says that higher unemployment, falling incomes and the risk of more restrictive lending will hinder first-time buyers. If the average first-time buyer loan-to-value ratio falls to 80 per cent, as it did in the wake of financial crisis, by 2024 the typical number of...

    Doomed to BOOMED!

When I found myself stuck in hospital at the start of December, my contract was due to end in early January. An extension had been on the cards, but as the heart surgery meant I'd be unable to work until the end of January at the earliest, ClientCo naturally had to start looking elsewhere. But...

    BOOMED

Albeit Public Sector Inside IR35 (for now). 15 miles from home. 30% more than my normal rate (so it covers the extra tax). Happy.

    Another Boom

Well looks like I nailed it. Money's poor but I'll be getting AngularJS 2.0 and WPF so am looking at this as an opportunity to skill up. Up against 8 others so quite chuffed after the 6 months I've just had :smile

AKA Boomed! Back at FenlandClientCo, three days a week (which is what I wanted if WFH wasn't an option), three months initially, fair chance of some more stuff after that :smokin And as they left the start date up to me, I'm going to take next week off to readjust my waking-up time :D

    Boomed!

I am sure the tag cloud has got smaller since the last time I was boomed... Just accepted an offer which was "direct" but forced through an agency (payroll handling margin), so I though the rate was good until I found out the contract is inside IR35 and I was informed by others working there...
