If HMG are having trouble collecting a tax they should reduce it to a level that the corporations find acceptable even if it's zero and look elsewhere for easy pickings to cover their costs.

If as I suggested they are avoiding paying tax with an artificial construct then HMRC need to pursue.
the question is if there was a BritBucks coffee chain would they hit the same market yet pay more tax?Comment

But even then the low cost immigrant living in a council flat claiming tax credits with 3 kids at school is hardly paying their way.Originally posted by d000hg View PostTo all those saying this means a net loss of income to the UK... you're forgetting employer's NI. This is still an effective tax that must be paid while hiring UK workers.
Would the UK be better of if these low paid jobs didn't attract overseas workers in the first place? UK residents taking the jobs would make sense but that would never be allowed.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Well said!Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostYour proposals are about implementing controls and restrictions. Why not turn it round and reduce corporation tax rates in order to incentivise businesses to come to the UK? Whilst we are at it why don't those who so carelessly spend the taxes make more effort to show that taxation is a hugely cost effective way of making this country function and thus attract companies to want to come and work here. Instead the dogma dictates that tax is an entitlement.Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment

I don't think this is the norm. That's like saying the majority of people in IT are bobs... it's a gross exaggeration.Originally posted by tractor View PostNot when they make them job share on zero hours contracts and ensure that the majority work <16 hrs per week they don't.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
