The majority of non-Muslim ones don't either though... even the UK (well legally we do but it's like IR35, reality overrides what the contract says).

Looking forward to Wim wading in on this delicate subject. Probably he'll say the Muslims have the right idea.

We don't yet have true equality in the UK, it's true, but to equate their situation with that in some Islamic and third world countries (if that is what you meant to do) is ridiculous.

What's that amputee thing? musta missed that.

Quite true xog, you can't equate sharia law and islamic culture with the more enlightened western values.

Before sharia law, a woman is not a complete person. Her testimony is only half that of a man.

Women are property, not people. From arranged marriages (practiced by other third world cultures as well), to beatings for talking to boys, to execution for being the victims of rape. Remember that this is all within shariah law. I think most of us would agree that western cultures are generally above that.

          I assume you mean this:
If I ever saw an amputee being hung, I'd start shouting out letters
          Hangman.

It was not so long ago it was like that in the UK.

Yes, but that's the point, it is not like that today. Sensible people live in the present and judge on current realities, not history.

Oh. here's another one! Suspects of same ethnicity!

Arrests made in second Rochdale sex grooming scandal - Telegraph

Must be total coincidence obviously. PS There are more cases to come, there will be similar suspects and they will be coincidence too. Or police racism.

Or we could just stop living in a PC dreamworld about what life is like for women, non Muslims and "dancing boys" in awful places like Pakistan, fat chance.

It does not matter what their ethnicity is - the only thing that matters if they broke the law and it's up the jury to decide that in court.

As regards punishment for UK citizens, I agree atW, they must all be treated the same.

However, when there any major problems with any minority (and it really does not matter what the reasons are in absence of any easy solution) our government should be taking that into account and introducing stricter controls on future migrations from those countries.

People can rabbit about discrimination, marginalisation etc all they want, but it does not alter the facts that migrations from some places like Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Caribbean and East Africa largely been to the detriment to the UK. It is not just about unnaceptable attitudes, check out reputable, mainly government, sources on health, crime, academic acheivement, social housing and welfare. Immigration from those countries needs to be tightened up considerably so we only get those educated individuals who are a real benefit.

PS Or Romania, Bulgaria or Lithunia but there is probably nowt we can do there.
