Seeing most towns on a Saturday night suggests we're not in much of a position to judge others, sadly.
Yeah but if you're trying to get 13 year old girls drunk when you're 59??
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

I don't see what difference being 59 makes. A 20yo getting a naive 18yo fresher drunk in order to have sex with them is as bad really.

No it isn't, and you know it isn't.

No matter how naive, the 18 year old should be well aware of the risks unless she is severely retarded, and in that situation, only in that situation could it be considered as bad.

The 18yo couldn't claim complete ignorance in that situation but if you want to compare it to gangs of dirty old men praying on vulnerable under age girls then carry on.

I'm sorry, I thought rape was rape.

A 13yo should know as much too.

You're confusing adults with children, you hadn't really thought this through before you decided you'd win this argument no mater how daft you sound.

Before we Europeans go getting too smug about these 'Muslimists' we might remember that the age of consent in Pakistan is 16, France 15, Germany and Italy 14 and 13 in Spain!

It seems open and shut to me. Nine men convicted of raping and abusing women and girls. Nothing at all to do with race or religion whatsoever. It seems that the greedy defence lawyer knows his only chance of an appeal lies in some sort of technical defence. Perverts, banged up, job done.

So one can appreciate that they're likely to respect non-muslim alcohol-bingeing women even less and, given half a chance, treat them accordingly.

I imagine that's the point Starkey was trying to make.

OTOH there are plenty of indigenous westerners who would and do treat young people just as badly, if there's money and sex in it.
