Is that true? Doesn't Islam share with Christian and Jewish teaching that sexual relations are reserved for marriage between a man and a woman? I always assumed it did but does anyone here actually know?

Discussions of what some holy book does and does not allow are pretty irrelevant, what matters is the actual practices. Don't think Christ said you can burn witches and heretics either but it didn't stop it happening for centuries. Current realities are the only sane way to judge anything.

I think that all religion should be banned, it causes and has caused more death, destruction, pain & suffering than a Nuclear holocaust would.

It does when you're saying people are doing it because of Islam... the religion and the culture of those who claim to follow it are not the same thing.
