If I was being paid that for the skills and experience that is required I would'nt be wanting to give anything to charity.
I remember seeing adverts for Centrica offering similar low levels of pay for Engineers alongside job adverts for recruitment consultants for £65 - £75K.
I am a recruitment consultant myself (part time of course) and I can see why companies are paying these sums for the likes of us. I could say it is because we are more important than the Engineers - but we are not. It is just that companies have been hoodwinked into believing that they are getting top rate recruiters prepared to work for less in a different environment. The truth of course is that what they are actually getting is mediocre recruiters for who £65 k is a huge improvement on their basic salaries.
The moral of the story is - stick to IT
