Yeah but my Atari 130xe is better than your C64!

Look at the Galaxy Tab, which is the nearest thing in spec to previous versions of the iPad: the price is almost identical for an equivalent machine. Yet the iPad is still better, not necessarily in terms of hardware, but indubutably in terms of software and usability.
Can you view a flash based website from the iPad? Can you play most types of media files on the iPad? Can you insert a SD card into the iPad? Android will kill off iOS unless Apple stop crippling the OS.

Do you still need to install iTunes on a computer to get an iPad to work?

As I pointed out yesterday, Adobe have killed Flash on mobile.

Flash is dead. Get over it. No device will support it in future and it will vanish from the web. Good riddance to bad rubbish

Old School you could only activate an iPhone with iTunes, now you can do it OTA

I always thought you needed iTunes for an iPad as well.

Can you just stick MP3s on an SD card and stick it in an iPad to play them? Or do you need iTunes to put music and things on it as well?

I don't like flash much either, but it annoying it exists now and won't disappear overnight. Given that iPad screen is more akin to a laptop then you are likely to be browsing non mobile sites more.
