STUNNING NEW APPLE DEVICES that will follow the iPad 3 HD!

"But it still wasn't right," reveals our source. "You've probably noticed that touchscreen text entry is, basically, crap. And reaching up to manipulate apps by touching the screen with fingers was still a major issue ergonomics-wise."

    ...

"Then it hit us," says our source. "The text-entry touchscreen could use a different kind of technology to the other one - and the main display panel didn't really need to be a touchscreen at all."
Though I can't help thinking this was written as a First of April article which got released a bit early

    HTH
It probably has far more processing power than the computer you first worked on.

Personally I hate telephones and never use them. Antiquated Victorian technology. I'd prefer it if telephony was abolished.
Ditto. Something I read in a management book years ago greatly appealed to me: it recommended that phones shouldn't have a bell, but a flashing light instead.

The downside of that was that British Rail adopted that recommendation.for telephone enquiries, and you were lucky to get an answer.

I was going to rub your nose in how wrong and short-sighted you are, but I can't find a better way to do so than quote your own post.

Possibly / probably - there are already some instructions on getting the Fire to work in the UK. I'm not sure about something that small, though.

I really can't justify what I would do with a tablet that I wouldn't do with a laptop - by the time I can, the Fire should be available in the UK

Oracle have a whole range of things for the iPad, but as far as I am aware, nothing for Android.

Not that Oracle are known for always getting the software platform right, of course.

Very true. The tablet + keyboard concept will definitely catch on once it can be docked with a full size screen as well. I'm waiting for an A4 tablet myself.

It'll be another thing that corporate folk have, just like they all have laptops, docking stations, monitors and so on now.

Android will become the most popular tablet OS then iOS, windows will be a distant 3rd as they are far too late to the party.

If you are hoarding a load of local content from years ago, you are not a target user for iPad... the modern user buys digital content online or consumes streaming content, which IS all compatible.
The regular user can't even GET their old OGGs onto their tablet in the first place. Again - you're clearly not a typical user so you should pick something more specialised... assuming everyone else has the same practices as a middle aged IT geek is a dangerous move to make.
