If it is significantly more powerful on the graphics side (as they claim), I GAS since part of my plan B involves doing visualisation and 3D rendering, and getting it working on iPad would be a real coup.

I'm in the same boat, everyone raves about them but an upto £800 device I wouldn't be too happy flashing it in public, around the home I have my laptop all other times I have my smartphone, I don't see a use for a tablet

Crikey. I'm still waiting for the Amazon Fire to get over the pond and now the iPad 3 is out. And that means that there will be a lot of used iPad 2 on sale soon. Time to grab me a bargin.
