She is spot on.
If we had continued the traditions of single householder incomes, then house prices would be far more sensible and the kids more stable. Instead we have a situation where couples run off and compete to buy houses that cost more than 5 times their salary, only to then want kids later on and be stuck with dumping their children on childminders and nurseries. Maybe in these times of austerity its time to start telling society that they don't get to have careers and kids, and they need to stick at one or the other and do it properly.Comment
