I shall be voting "Yes" very shortly.
I regard AV as a small step in the possible direction of PR, so for that reason a step worth taking.
I suspect that if the "YES" campaign win that it may result in the Lib Dems having more influence in affairs, so the possibility of PR at some future point is enhanced.
However, for those who don't wish to Vote, good luck to you. People gave their lives for you to have that choice, don't let anyone browbeat you into voting if you don't want to. You have no "Duty" to vote at all, what you do have is the freedom to choose.

I'll be voting no, so you may as well not bother - My vote will cancel yours entirely

Which people died to give me the freedom not to vote, exactly? We haven't had a war against Australia or Lichtenstein AFAIK

            .
Why does that not surprise me? It's in keeping with your general feeble-mindedness that you think PR is a good idea

Since the first past the post system has given us generations of honest, involved, manifesto keeping, representative, inclusive and above all effective governments then it's obviously essential we keep that approach to elections and the UK's tried and tested democracy...

Your opinion and insult is meaningless without explaining why you think it's a bad idea. Go on Sas, what's bad about PR and is FPTP the best system or are you in favour of something else?

If you want the Tories never to hold power again, and for the centre-leftish majority to hold sway, go ahead and get PR, because that will be what you get.
It may be "fair" but will be a long term disaster for the UK.

1)How do you know the majority will always be leftish?
2)Other countries have such systems and are less screwed by their governments than the UK
