It's a token referendum to appease the Lib Dems. It'll be a massive 'No' vote and then they'll have to do what the Tories tell them until the next election.

Hardly worth getting the car out for.

The freedoms that were fought for implicitly include your right not to vote. It is not rocket science Archimedes!!!
However, on balance, and taking into account your showing in this thread, perhaps sas has a point. You may indeed be too thick to know what you are doing anyway.
Maybe stick to your abstract made-up deities and special friends. That appears to be your comfort zone.

You are presumably in favour of retaining a system in which getting less than 40% of the votes can get you a sizeable enough majority to vote through lazy, party-driven, and often targeted and vindictive policy. Policy that generally gets reversed by the following government in very expensive style.
There is a reason why your mind works that way sasguru. It has to do with your IQ being less than 3/5 of the square root of fook-all. Right up there with your charisma count!

So why did Thatcher acknowledge that with PR she wouldn't have been able to do what she did because she'd have to compromise with one or more smaller parties?
The problems with pea-brains like you is you don't see beyond the obvious.
One practical outcome of PR is the Tories would never again be given carte blanche to reverse the excesses of the left.
PR may work in more sensible countires where consensus rules but would be a disaster here.

It has patently escaped your razorlike detective skills that with PR, there would be no leftie excesses to reverse.

For those with slightly more than SB's gnat-like IQ and child-like ignorance here's a good case against PR:

Do they? Australia fought in some of the same wars as us but has compulsory voting.

Where exactly is the right not to vote discussed? Just saying it's so over and over doesn't actually strengthen your argument.

Says the man who quoted "Thatcher" as some sort of champion of democratic plausibility.

If you'd like to talk about excess, Hitler got to power under PR.
