I threw my voting card away the day it arrived as usual.

I don't rant about the result, I rant about how tulip all the parties are, and how no matter what the result, we all hate politicians and whatever policies they bring in.Originally posted by Halo Jones View PostSent my mail vote back before Easter.
I do think voting should be compulsory,
Things that annoy me: bods ranting about election results when they never voted themselves, if you don’t vote you do not have the right to complain about the result!

HJ was (I think) complaining about people that don't vote in elections, not this specific referendum.Originally posted by d000hg View PostIt's Yes or No. Hardly that taxing.
I won't be voting because I won't be in the UK. Even so, I couldn't vote for what I would prefer (PR) in this referendum. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

I am not voting to choose which system is used to shaft us.
Remember Douglas Adams:
'"It [the robot] comes from a very ancient democracy, you see..."
"You mean, it comes from a world of lizards?"
"No," said Ford, who by this time was a little more rational and coherent than he had been, having finally had the coffee forced down him, "nothing so simple. Nothing anything like to straightforward. On its world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said ford. "It is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them," said Ford. "They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates to the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards?"
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard," said Ford, "the wrong lizard might get in. Got any gin?"
"What?"
"I said," said Ford, with an increasing air of urgency creeping into his voice, "have you got any gin?"
"I'll look. Tell me about the lizards."
Ford shrugged again.
"Some people say that the lizards are the best thing that ever happened to them," he said. "They're completely wrong of course, completely and utterly wrong, but someone's got to say it." 'Comment

So you wouldn't vote unless one option was exactly your personal vision?Originally posted by doodab View PostI won't be voting because I won't be in the UK. A valid point, a "none of the above" option would at least give us free choice but would result in a failed election every timeOriginally posted by doodab View PostIf you don't vote because you don't want any of the candidates then you have every right to bitch a bit. Refuse to have your choices limited!

No, but I don't think it makes sense to support something that makes what I want to see less likely.Originally posted by d000hg View PostSo you wouldn't vote unless one option was exactly your personal vision? While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. Although I'm a UKIP member, I shall be voting no....my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...
