My parents took us on a weekend away to sell the idea of moving north. On the Sunday, they decided that a drive across the moors would show off the countryside and that would seal the deal.

Apart from the fact that is p!ssed it down that day and you could hardly see anything. And my sister got car-sick. And then we got lost in Whitby and got separated. Which then meant my dad was in a foul mood.

So, if you're planning a trip to sell the deal, make sure the forecast is tulip in Swindon and glorious anywhere that you might actually want to move to.

Because she was apparently talking about claiming housing benefits. The CSA barged into a mate's life when he'd given his ex the house, a car and he never blobbed once on maintenance payments, but as soon as his ex started claiming the dole, they were after him.

You'll never get her to move.

And if you do you'll never change her attitude.

I'd dump her. Seriously. In my opinion she has just moved into suffocating your career territory.

Just grasping at the final straw here...parents? Any chance of moving in with parents or relatives..Or is she into the nuclear family thing.

One of my cousins is married to a woman that never stepped a foot past Watford - and he was living in Rochdale! He finally got her outta London....they now live in Qatar.

Yes if it means I have to sit on the dole doing effall all day long.

I had a few offers over the years, but there is no way I can simply sit at home doing nowt.

I suppose saying that I obviously didn't find the right partner all those years ago. Overbearing control freak parents I'm afraid.
