    Eeek!!! Double Eeek!

Sounds similar to what my wife and I had with opening a second office for her business. Similar rent to the 1st office, but much higher bills..After six months we both did the math and left pronto..it cost some cash to get out of the lease etc. but we're on much better financial footing now.

She still nags me about it..it was my idea to open a second office.

You're wife is probably thinking, like my friends, that "things will turn around next week". "No need to worry". "make some prayers". etc..

    Have you tried charts?

If you're used to (and like) the city life, then there are places that are never going to interest you. I hate London with a passion, and only go there for work.

I like my countryside too much to consider moving to a city

I'm starting to feel bad at paying £2500 a month rent for a house in the NE of England now.

Quite a few of them. Currently SW.

FTFY - that might be the only thing that works.

Yes, the "forward these lucky kittens and you will have a windfall" chain emails have been getting more frequent

Either self pick shares or buy low charge ETF's and investment trusts. Mutual funds are a rip off.

Yeah, someone told me that 10 years ago...maybe more. But, being lazy, I stuck with it. Besides selling at a loss is always difficult. Each fund is taking about 2-3% each year in just its fee. Now consider if the fund actually is losing money..double whammy.

I suppose I should start a thread on which online manager to use (internaxx.com?) and how best to move a significant amount of money from Canada to here.

Although for some reason she is willing to consider Swindon
Swindon = fast connection to London Paddington i.e. takes an hour.

                    Unfortunately she has forgotten:
                    1. It's expensive to travel on the train. It would probably be cheaper from Yorkshire as you can book your tickets in advance.
                    2. It's hell taking small kids on long train journeys
                    3. No-one from London will come and visit because it's SWINDON and they are too busy. However mention Yorkshire to people and they will be interested in paying a visit.

BTW lots of couples do the fake splitting up thing to claim benefits. (In your case it would have been really easy as long as you didn't leave your clothes in her flat. ) Now is a bad time to do it as the government has drastically cut the amount it pays for people's mortgage interest.

Swindon was my idea. I was trying to scare some sense into her.
