            How do you know? Fuel guages are not high precision instruments.

            Or do you run out of petrol frequently?

            Did you really, really, ring up the AA to say "I'm getting low on petrol"?

            Did you not think to ring directory enquiries or text AQA to ask where the nearest open petrol station is? You may have been able to get there.

              It was 20 miles away, I had it showing 4 miles, I didn't want to drive and end up stuck in a b road , I was at a big car park. There is usually a petrol station or two in these towns but they happened to be closed , no one knew why.
