Makes sense move non essential people out of London and drop London prices & rents.

As mentioned previously many of those I know on the Dole are working illegally or benefit breeding OK I know its not a statistically valid sample but I would suspect its rife.

Why clean toilets and get by when you can rest up on benefits?

Ok there are some people suffering but its strange what a driver the Mortgage light is.

Do comparable cities have freeloaders in the expensive bits? NY, Paris? I can't imagine Americans being so charitable with their tax dollars.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Paris has the rich in the middle and the poor in the suburbs. Every time they riot in Paris you see the poor in the suburbs burning cars.

London is different as there is normally council estates which tend to be high rised blocks (as the rest have been sold off) everywhere regardless of how rich the area is suppose to be.

In the state people don't get subsidies anything like here, people end up in shelters, living off food stamps, they generally work, but just don't get enough to rent or buy. So unlike socialist-put-your-feet-up Britain. I think helping people in genuine need is appropriate but paying ridiculous amounts of rent for people who could easily live elsewhere is just insane. Saying it is 'unfair' they can't live in central London is like saying it is unfair they can't shop at Harrods. NL robbed people of ambition and made them think they deserve to be looked after, not just offered interim (uncomfortable) assistance but for the rest of their lives.

No I think he's bitter because he works to pay his rent rather than sit at home and expect others to do it for him.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

            I preferred version 1!

A passport benefit is one that once granted gives access to others. basically when awarded Job seekers they have enough info to grant other benefits without having to apply again and again. So if you are on job seekers, then I presume they can award HB if you are deemed to be entitled to it

Actually, I think he's just bitter. Bitter that people get free housing worth more than he can afford. Bitter that bankers earn more than him. Bitter at any case where someone gets something he doesn't.

You are confusing "bitter" with "dull".

Spot on SupremeSpod, couldn't believe what I was hearing about £21k not being enough.
Bill for housing benefit has apparently gone up from £14bn (already huge amount) to £21,000,000,000 in 10 years.
Here is the deal - you get 6 months assistance at the level you are currently paying from losing your job IF you are in trouble, after that, start packing...

And extend that to mortgage payers, seeing as they don't normally require assistance it would be the right thing to do.
