Their English lessons are still focused on how a colony was told to speak English in the 19th century, much of it is focused on written and not spoken English.

I find their communication skills quite painfull really, their code is feckin tragic as well.

It's not just the web. I sit on a clustered table with 4 guys and when they on teleconf it is painful. The language is so high pitched and whiney...

Almost as bad as having to listen to a load of people talking Sarf Lahndan..

A wag at one client site emailed a list of "How to shoot yourself in the Foot" translated into various computer languages as a joke. Someone actually ran the command line expression one that deleted everything in the root folder downwards, to see what it did...

Even in my somewhat niche area I'm seeing a lot of this noise. It is frickin annoying to say the least. I contribute a fair bit to certain techie forums and will often reply with a RTFM or 'how about trying to get some training before going onsite'. I don't have a poblem trying to help - in fact I'm keen to provide knowledge - but so many of these people don't even try. They could at least read the Help!!! They just want the answer given to them, like so many uneducated dropouts.

I'm seriously vexed over this and am biting my tongue to not swear right now!

On one tech forum, we've been lobbying for an RTFM forum for the mods to move offending threads to. With an automatic delete of everything more than 60 days old.

Stack Overflow has a tendency to be swamped with this kind of thing from time to time - although to be fair, it's not just people from the Indian subcontinent.

This is fairly typical: What software development model I should use to developing software?

I was the SPOC for an off shoring project, where I had to knowledge-share to 6 such techies. I came to fine the use of language quite quaint, and although it mean 6 of our guys (including me) were moved on (3 of us to the bench) it was enjoyable while it lasted. It just took a lot of patience.

I think I've said this before on the forum, they later quoted 4 times longer for an enhancement project we had already planned before the decision was taken to off-shore support & enhancement, but as they were 4 times cheaper it made financial sense. However, 1 year on it hasn't completed!

Sorry, that last paragraph was off topic.
