As usual, these debates quickly depend upon definitions. I like your distinction between racial jokes and racist jokes, but I also believe I covered thatOriginally posted by NotAllThere View PostSome subjects are so dark, that humour is the only appropriate response.
There are jokes that are racial, but not racist. The examples of "humour" linked to are not humour. They're using comedic effect to perpetuate hate/derision. If you find them funny, then, yes, you are a racist.

I wonder if a jokes grognard can be a racist for appreciating the technicalities of a joke, without actually believing racist ideas. Can they be seperated ?
