Dad was in the forces so never really stayed in one place long enough to pick up a specific accent. Everyone says I have one but no-one can actually place it when I ask them what they think it is
"Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.

"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith
What is a "regional" accent? England and Scotland are two constituent countries of the United Kingdom. You could say that educated speakers from the region around the capital in both countries are the definition of "standard" accents in each of those two countries, and accents based in other parts of those two countries are "regional". But actually there is much more regional variation in England than in Scotland. So Scottish accents in general tend not to be "regional", whereas most English accents are "regional".
