Some of my Canadian slang catches people out as well...they look at each other as if I've insulted them. ha ha

Interesting - thought I was the only Canadian lurking around here.

I don't find my accent is an issue in the south east. I have had to speak slowly on a few occasions to ensure I was understood though.
