Why is it that all regional English accents annoy people from other regions?

Geordies can't stand Cockney, Southerner's can't stand Scouse, etc. Is there an accent that everyone likes?

The cure is to move back to Geordie land but been down here too long now, I've been 'southernised'.

Worse one of those three is the Swindon bit - consider suicide now.

It's a temporary condition, just need to bathe in mild acid upon finishing this contract.

It's a fact of British life that we all basically hate each other.

In my village, the drooling pointy heads at the top end hate the pretend squires and 'weekenders' at the bottom and and vice versa. I live in the middle and hate them all. Bastards!

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

"In the way it sounds, particularly: written to describe the sound rather than the dictionary spelling"

I don't begin to understand how thats phonetic.....

What sound are you implying with the H?
Is the Y a phonetic silence?

Would you be so kind as to elaborate for me?
