OK - that covers the maths bit, but what about the reality? You still average 50!! How about just doing an average of 50mph and not bother with all this stop/start???!!! Is it just a matter of principle?!

Seems the Scottish coppers are different! I tanked it past a couple well over the limit in Scotland. Most of them in laybys just waived

Unoffically I reckon they know how much money tourists bring into Scotland and a lot of that is from bikers esp. to the more far flung places your overseas tourists don't venture.

I wouldn't bother, mal - Cyberman knows much more from listening to some bloke in a garden centre than we mere mortals could ever possibly grasp by knowing the facts:

SPECs received Home Office Type Approval for cars changing lanes in 2007.

Also, as that article points out, it was never the case that the cameras "didn't work" if you changed lanes; merely that, until the relevant tests were passed, they could not be used for enforcement purposes in that case.
You obviously believe all of the propaganda.

No. It didn't survive the privatisation. The reduced number of sleeper trains meant each was longer and could no longer take the car-carriers too.
