I might just be the world’s only Englishman who likes sauerkraut.

A friend's German mother-in-law promised me sauerkraut one day. It was six weeks before I got the message it was ready and a meal was constructed specially for the sauerkraut.

It was absolutely scrummy.

But, I have never managed to buy a sauerkraut that tasted of anything other than raw cabbage peelings in vinegar.
