No such thing as "buy software for the whole enterprise from one vendor".
What tools does SAP have for BI, analytics, data mining et al? They would have to be tacked on. And any large blue-chip multinational without these tools won't remain competitive for long.

PS Don't say Netweaver - that's crap.

Current version of BI - 7.0. Been around for years ( though prior to 3.x it was pretty poor ), used VERY widely amongst, oh, large blue-chip multinationals. Nestlé, Novartis, for example...

Your knowledge of SAP seems to be stuck in the late 90s.
