Is that legal? I am not up to speed on this so just asking. I seem to remember you or someone else saying they didn't declare or whatever they do till after you had done your transfer so you may have some legal road to get your money.
You need to check your icesave account again, see if the money has returned there. If it has go down every route you can to get it out.

Chances are you (and the rest of us) will lose most of it as we just do not know which one is going next. It's like the LOTTO. It could be you!!!!

Appears it is legal checking there terms and conditions, issue is though they reversed transactions made before they made the announcement, which seems under hand it should of been after the annoucment.

No sign of mine either. Keep me posted if you get any joy over the phone, have you spoken to Icesave today. The transfer still shows as gone on my Icesave account. Make sure you keep the printouts, it might be important at some stage. I think the Icelandic government only passed some new laws on Monday night to allow them to do what they want.

        You have my sympathies !

I'm still quite relaxed that I'll get my 35K at some stage but

I'm on hold at the moment, someone has just called me to say though that Mr Darling has said he 'would underwrite 100% of savers cash in ICESAVE but this is a one off', anyone confirm ?

Social insurance hmm, whereby the masses look after those less fortunate. Lucky for ice-savers its not the tories in power eh?

The report on this mornings news seemed to suggest that this was only effective in relation to the 20k euro the Icelandic government are supposed to pay in their compensation scheme.

Now that is a different matter. I do not see why the Government should be taxing me more from the pittance I earn so that some fat cat with 200K in their bank account doesn't lose out because he invested in some dodgy deal to earn more interest.
                      [edit]Don't take that seriously please.
