Anyone here still banking with an Icelandic bank?

HMG are covering the first 50K for savers as announced last week. Why would they feel that they should cover 100% for an Icelandic Bank?

Darling has lied in the past, and I think he is up to it again for PR purposes (ie a political statement similar to Merkel, with no substance).

Sooner if there is no confidence to place deposits in banks
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

So what will people do with the money if not in the banks? National savings? Gold? Under mattress?
