Is Kaputhing still letting you bail out then ?

I'm thinking I'll repatriate my ING wad.

The Kaupthing site is working as normal.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

jeez 200k? That is awful. I can only agree with the other poster ... ring your bank. They will have a good chance of seeing it in the system.

I am BACSing even the last 10 K form Kaupthing ... the story goes that if ICeland goes bust the gov might not be able to pay this first 10 k promptly.

I am such a loser. Yesterday made a 10 K deposit into kaupthing ... still waiting for the money to get there before I can get it back.... with the kind of paranoid I am it is gonna be thrilling 6 days ahead...

The first 16k applies to Icesave et al. Kaupthing is a UK subsiduary 100% compensated (up to 50k) as any UK bank is. So only move if you think you have somewhere more safe IMHO that's probably a building society.

Whats the deal if you have a natwest company bank account, current account and savings account, totalling in excess of 100K. ARe company accounts treated seperately to individual..

I am fortunate that I moved my cash in a flash from icesave last week, but now have it in natwest!

Nothing to do with the fact that Iceland's a member of the Arctic council.
"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

More likely Putin's mates used Icelands financial system that lacked oversight to launder money.

Apparently business and personal accounts have seperate registrations and seperate compensation limits . I rang up the FSA last week and got this confirmed about my HBOS personal and business accounts. But please ... do your own research by all means.

It is also a good idea to not have money on deposit with the same group of institutions that you mortage with . So if you have a current account/Offset morgage ....pray
