lol - I was looking back at those posts as was sure you said you had cash in Kaupthing, think it was Bagpuss though. I said I was going to take my cash out of there in the spring too... No excuses, very poor judgement.

Sounds like it has gone through. I did £70k on Friday night but opted for the CHAPS so it came though yesterday. Your transfer would have been actioned on Monday and this was before the SHTF so, got everything crossed, but gut feeling is that cash will have left them and there is no way they will be able to claw it back.

Can't believe how close a call that was. Really think you will be OK mate but have a couple of whiskeys when you get home anyway

I have some money in Kaupthing too.... Iceland will be fine , Norway , Denmark , Russia will all loan money to it..... it is a needless panic..

Thanks ferret, looking at some of the other money forums it looks like ICESAVE is telling some customers they wont be getting there £ and some customers have been informed of this by email. I just got to sit tight now and hope. Thing is I would of done a CHAPS payment but the ICESAVE website was so flakey on Sunday, I coudnt risk click for another screen, I count myself lucky to have just got it in a BACS.

I'm praying now and if it comes through I will make a £250 donnation to charity

Withdrew mine about 3 months ago when someone on here mentioned the bad smell. Still got £157 in there though and can't get at the bugger

Customers of the Icesave internet bank have been warned they will probably have to claim compensation for money held in their savings accounts.

So anyone with cash still in Icesave up to £16,300 will have to go cap in hand to the Icelandic Gov. Quality. FSCS having to compensate the rest. What a mess! I am sorely tempted to get all my cash out and stick it under the bed. You ain't seen me Roight?

If you want to keep your money in an Icelandic institution then you really are dumber than your posts to date indicate. I thought I was stupid for leaving it so late but with the writing so clearly on the wall to leave money in there is just mental IMO.
