Furthermore, some Russians are going back to live in Russian and Russia also has more new emigrates than the USA.

Some guide books even state there is a petrol shortage in Russia and busses and police cars are running out of fuel. Strange that because the newspapers are saying that it’s the British police have to ration their fuel along with the Army and RAF.
The population of Russia is falling to the tune of 800,000 per year.

Despite the cliched image, not all of Russia's population are billionaire, or even millionaire, oligarchs. But even its huddled masses are not so massive any more. The country's population, a basic driver of growth in any wannabe economic super power, is shrinking at a rate of 800,000 a year. Turning east to China reveals a still-Communist state that is no natural ally to Moscow, and even less so now after its Olympic makeover

No, population is still decreasing - "affluence" comes in form of Chealsea owner who buys stupid things using your own money - every time you refuel or use gas in any way (this includes electricity) you are financing buys like Shevchenko and others.

Why does everyone just keep going on about russians buying Chelsea. They're spending just as much on their home clubs now. Danny £25 million for Zenit.

Paddy, can you read Russian actually, do you really know what was that article is about?

FYI the article is about increase in birthrate - it is indeed increased, however overall population is still shrinking - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demogra...ing_population

If you actually look deeper (something I doubt you thought of doing) you will find that the most population growth happens in Muslim parts of Russia in Caucus - this is where effectively war is still going on and it's just a matter of time when they get separated.

Gazprom finances them - they are like Abramovich only they take money directly from the population via ever increasing internal gas prices to finance these players (and other things like gold toilets) - I hold them in even bigger contempt than Abramovich.

I wasn't condoning them, I was only stating that CSKA and the likes are spending just as much money as chelski and the rest.

No, they don't spend as near as much as Chelsea - they are buying expensive players on expensive salaries en masse, where as Russians clubs have got a handful of such people - very few top players would want to play in Russian "Premier League", usually they get out of there too ther places to get higher salary.
