Immediate sanctions on all members of Russian Govt, "Parliament", rich mates of Putin are necessary - check all their bank accounts for money laundering, FFS, when my sister was here 2 years ago I could not open her bank account with a handful of cash - and those ****ers bring in billions and nobody is asking them questions about money laundering.

It is insane to depend on dictators for essential stuff - if they were selling banans then it would not be so bad, but to have energy dependance knowing that the money you pay will go to arm the regime is crazy.

... but ATW, Russia is a democracy. I heard George Galloway spouting off about hoe democratic they are last week.

Did you know that in USSR we also had elections into Parliament? Yes, people were voting every 4 years or so - only there was one candidate to vote for, but it's not very different now - others don't get TV/paper places and routinely get harassed by security services during elections, so naturally people "vote" for Putin's nenchman, just because they do so does not make it democracy anymore than it was (wasn't actually) in USSR.

Yes, I know, but obviously George Galloway needs some educating.

Kind of hope they do, they're doing a great long term job of isolating themselves ...

Germany companies are busy producing solar cells - Siemens (heard of it?) got booked for wind generator parts for like 4-5 years in advance. What british companeis are doing, not even building houses anymore!

We're headed into such a recession anks to New Lie and the failure to cut interest rates that we will just not need so much oil. That could be a good thing in the short-term.

You mean, er, us, then. Whoever has the fuel wins. We know this. The Ruskies know this. Everyone knows this.

Check Mateski to them, I think, unless domestic atomic fusion power units à la "Back to the Future" reach market pretty soon.

What utter bull tulip. I don’t blame you for being so ignorant because if you read the outdated guide books at Smiths you will get that sort of misinformation. The population has been on the increase for the past five years; this is because of the new affluence. Furthermore, some Russians are going back to live in Russian and Russia also has more new emigrates than the USA.

Some guide books even state there is a petrol shortage in Russia and busses and police cars are running out of fuel. Strange that because the newspapers are saying that it’s the British police have to ration their fuel along with the Army and RAF.

How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
