Fk it, I am really pissed off now.

What annoys me is that how few people know the obvious details of the Russian "democracy". In late 2007 when there were "elections" to the "Parliament" the most shocking in my thing was not just the fact that the opposition won't get any TV and get harassed in all ways, in fact most of opposition figures were not allowed to get balloted on false or ridiculous pretexts.

Putin as president had to be outside of any party, but he had main party that is illegally financed as well as some others supporting parties, so he decided he would become the leader of the party without being its member!!! Just against any common sense - leader of the party without being member?!?!?!

Ok, this is crazy but it gets even "better" - he changed election model to be based on lists of people, so people vote for party rather than specific individuals - this was to cut off independents and then cut off any other parties so that they simply can't take part in elections, so in his big party most of governors and other VIPs also put their names on ballot papers to ensure high local votes - and when the elections ended what do they do, quit their executive positions and join the Parliament?! Fk no! They quit the list and allow unknown members (easily controlled) below them in the list to take actual places in the Parliament! This included Putin too who did not take up the mandate in the Parliament!

Just how the fook this sham was even remotely called as elections?!?!?!?! I am not even talking about massive fraud during election process when people were forced to vote for them and simply faked votes

Just few hours ago owner of one of the few remaining papers (online site actually) was shot dead. Circumstances? He was on the airplane from Moscow and was picked up at the exit of the airplane and shot, died in hospital from shot in the head. The editor of his paper had to claim politycal asylum (USA I think), good timing too - she'd get shot as well.

That's how Putin shuts voices of those who oppose him - and after all that murder (lots of journalists were killed, MPs too) he dares to criticise freedom of speech in other countries? Bush might be an idiot but he does not kill people like those who made countless 9/11 movies, he did not ban those movies - in Russia those who tried to investigate blown up houses in 1999 when Putin suddenly came to power were killed

Unfortunately if you visit Russian forum of those who live in the UK you will hear that majority of them like that guy and actually worse - some of them must be puppets, but many definately live here, yet they spout same crap. That's why I stopped posting there completely few years ago - it only became worse since then, shocking really - people live in the UK long term and totally miss the point,
I think the only rational explanation is that years of Soviet rule generally screwed up heads of most Russians and they need professional help - possibly long term detainment in a house where they can't do any damage to anyone.

I was there during the elections and it was a bit tense. What you seem to forget is that like all democracies Russia is one man one vote. It's just that Mr P is the one man with the one vote.

Most Russians are also aware of GDP growth in excess of 7% p/a for the last 8years.
