You have to be a middle aged man with a juvenile sense of "humour" who thinks that showing off by doing something stupid will make the other boys like you.Originally posted by Fran View PostHow do you put the wrong end of a pipe in your mouth anyway!

At least that's what Clarkson appeared to be doing when I watched it.Comment

If you don't like it why watch it?The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

Clarksons "point" was that since Porches' have the engine at the "wrong end" logically the bowl of the pipe should be at the wrong end as well. Having stuck it in his gob the burning herbal substance ( it wasnt tobacco according to the Beeb ) promptly used up the available air supply in there and proceeded to suck air in through the stem, forcing burning embers and smoke into his mouth to the amusement of all concerned.Originally posted by Fran View PostHow do you put the wrong end of a pipe in your mouth anyway!

I Don't watch it. I have seen it. It's a tragic love-in for 3 obviously bed-sharing presenters, with a flock of sheep baaing apppreciatively, whilst most with a brain look on with a mixture of loathing, boredom and acid hatred.Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostIf you don't like it why watch it?Comment

Since my son, 16 and easily distracted, watches it I end up catching bits of it as well. I have to admit to a frisson of excitment when it appeared Clarkson might actually get run down by a Sea Cat ferry in Dover harbour but apart from that and the spectacal of JC setting fire to his own mouth there wasnt really much to recommend it.Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostIf you don't like it why watch it?"Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment

Anyway, smoking pipes doesn't count as smoking on life assurance forms, shouldn't it be the same?Comment
