Get her to take some lessons on a dry slope or snow dome in the UK first - that way at least she might know if she can do it / likes it.

If she does then bonus - go by yourselves after your mates holiday.

No they can't, only a few people on here can!

It's the only way to boost the post count when you have little to say that is meaningful, and can't bring yourself to do TPD.

It's no fun if it's that easy.

Some would say that it's not fun at all, but there you go...

I've had a few bits from these guys

              http://www.skiwear4less.com

Also if your in the Yorkshire area theres always Xscape at Castleford if you want to get her some lessons on "real" snow.
Some people are like slinkys, totally pointless but the thought of pushing them down a flight of stairs never fails to put a smile on your face.

Yes. Being able to ski frequently almost makes it worth having to live with the Swiss. Skiing is the best fun you can have with 6 layers of clothes on.

Don't tell me, you've still got the luminous all in one that was o so fashoinable back then?
I had my first ski trip when these were around, when time came to replace my gear I actually wanted to buy one of these, but they'd been out of fashion for several years. I had to settle for an all-yellow non-luminous one-piece, which is still going strong 12 years later. I hope they bring them back, one-piece single-colours garments in pastel blue, lime green, yellow, pink or orange would be far more pleasing to my eye than most of the stuff people wear. (Not to keen on the green or orange though.)

The only person who's ever commented on my get-up was a chalet host, who had several excuses for caring more than I do about fashion, he was (a) a boarder, (b) gay, probably, (c) a graduate of the school of fashion and textiles at St Martins College of Art and Design, (d) worked summers as a fashion consultant. I respected his opinion, but as a heterosexual married skier, not enought to actually change what I wear.

Although I admit to liking my get-up, my main criteria in ski clothing are keeping myself warm and making myself visible to rescue helicopters, come the day I need one. (I was going to say making myself visible to incompetent boarders, but having been taken out by one while standing still in the middle of a 100 metre wide empty piste in Courcheval, I now realise that them seeing you doesn't actually make any difference. Just realised I'm setting myself up for witty explanations here...)

                    Witty? Maybe not:
Not necessarily a boarder problem now was it.
It is well known that we tend to gravitate towards what we are looking at whether we are skiing, boarding, cycling or biking.
If you are staring at it you will hit it (generalisation).
So you standing in the middle of the piste looking like a prize plum is bound to have some poor bugger distracted long enough for you to become unavoidable.
Be less conspicuous that way you will become less of a target.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Try to stop near the edge of the piste, rather than standing in the middle of it.
