Fantasy Tax - What new tax would you invent?

It seems that the government is running out of other people's money and needs to demand more.

Let's see what taxes we could invent to help out?

I'll start: Buildings Air Conditioning Tax. Taxable value related to installed capacity with an energy surcharge for buildings with air conditioning.

A football tax. Could also work for other two-team sports, with some amendments.

The amount due is based on the total wages bill for each team, according to the players who participated in the game (even if only subbed on for a few minutes), no deductions for anyone taken off injured. The amount to be paid is determined by when each team scores their first goal, so the earlier a goal is scored, the lower the tax.

If neither team scores within the normal 90 minute match duration then 100% of the wages for that match are due as tax. This tax cannot be offset against PAYE / NIC liabilities.

That should (a) make the early minutes of all games more interesting and (b) drive down the frankly nuts wages for a bunch of overpaid shampoo models.

AI tax. They are going to replace us eventually so might as well get the tax in now while its still early days.

I would spend it on universal basic income, so humans can loaf about and do whatever takes our fancy.

Thats the sci-fi future we want right?

Ship tax. Er, we ain't got any ships any more.

Hearth tax. Er, mostly ditto. Though all those wood burners might bring in a penny or two.

        Window tax! It's a winner!
        When the fun stops, STOP.

In the interest of equality this tax will also apply to women.

Offshoring Tax. For each offshore worker, a firm would pay the avoided UK tax and NI.

A tax tax. 15% extra tax to be paid on every £1 you currently pay in tax.
