    oh to be a lefty

Free Gear Kier less popular than Maggie amongst Labour voters

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...eresa-May.html

Labour's own voters think Starmer is a worse PM than Thatcher was... as poll shows Brits rate him below Major and on a par with Theresa May

lets hope they don't ask about Hitler!
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Oh to be in Labour now that Starmer's there. .

How long before he reaches Lettice level?

      Just askin' like.

I just had the curious thought that Magic Grampa might have done a better job than the last 4 PMs.

      Frightening, innit?

Feck me, I counted wrong, it's probably 7, which is even more frightening.
      When the fun stops, STOP.

Where did the terms lefty and righty come from? Maybe we could bracket ourselves as uppies or downies or innies or outies for a change.

        PS Google says French revolution.

Nope. Most sensible comment on the thread so far.

Oh to be a lefty, now that Labour's here,
We cheered for change, we held it dear,
But promises fade, and doubts appear,
The shine is gone, replaced by fear.
We hoped for more, we dreamed so big,
Now we're left to dance a different jig.
The jubilation fades, we see the rot
Labour's just as bad as the other lot.

Oh to be a righty, now that Labour's here,
We feared the worst, the end was near,
Doom and gloom, we'd all be poor,
But now it seems just like before.
The terror fades, the panic wanes,
                The Tories see electoral gains!
                An election and a win.
                But then disillusionment sets in:
No matter who you vote for - the government still gets in.
