I picked this name as even back in 2010 I could see the awful fate we were headed for. I had a little hope that Conservatives could have turned things around, but no, they made things ever worse. I voted Brexit as I wanted to remove any excuse of "the EU made us do it". Now here we are, with the Tories about to be completely wiped out. No excuses left. And lots of people excited about being able to vote for a party that actually represents their wishes. Maybe not this election, but in 2 years when the country inevitably collapses ( I dont expect Labour to manage a full term) we will have real Reform.

We've replaced immigration from the EU with immigration from elsewhere. Apart from that, it's just introduced hassle and made us poorer.
Funny watching Place in the Sun on Ch4, how many people still don't realise they can't just move/retire to Spain or spend the autumn/winter in their 2nd home.Comment

Just read this on the Telegraph comments, really sums up the situation we are in:
And its a very good question. And its not a surprise, did they really think they'd get away with it? Giving us the opposite of what we wanted and somehow think we'd continue voting for them? They know what we want, they tell us when its time to vote, and then soon forgotten and do the opposite. So I guess pushing this agenda is more important than either being in power or continuing to be a political party. For me the sad and totally unbelievable thing about this whole situation is that the Conservatives decided for reasons beyond comprehension to spend the past four and a half years wrecking our country and destroying their party.
If Johnson and his Party had only,
1) Been "Swedish" with Covid.
2) Given us a real Brexit.
3) Controlled Immigration.
and
4) Dumped the Green Insanity.
He would still be Prime Minister and the forthcoming election would be giving him a greatly increased majority against a truly awful opposition.
So all together now 1,2,3 "Why did they do it?"Last edited by escapeUK; 6 June 2024, 10:50.Comment

You have a complete lack of logic and total lack of knowledge of working in other countriesOriginally posted by vetran View Post
Why? That isn't really part of the equation unless you are poorly qualified and unattractive to the host company.

A big turnout for Reform would certainly be a kick in the pants for the two major English parties.
Just so long as we don't get Dianne Abbott counting the votes...Comment
