Seriously some people on Mumsnet are mad!

"Husband went out for lunch yesterday with two colleagues one of which owned the restaurant. (South Indian)
He came home at around midnight 10pm with 5 large paper bags full of takeaway food.
The food has been sat in his car boot for the best part of 6 hours.

There is the equivalent quantity of 5 takeaway dinners for 4 people. A ridiculous amount of food!
Apparently the people he was with insisted on him taking the food and he did not pay for it.
We meal plan so I have food planned for the next few days. Our children dislike spicy food so won't be eating it either.
He is annoyed with me because
    1. I said he shouldn't have accepted it knowing we probably wouldn't eat it
    2. he should have given the bags away to people at work who would make use of it

It just seems such a waste of food (either the gifted food or the food that I had planned) and he can't see why I'm getting annoyed."

    What would you do?

He should have stayed at the restaurant and shagged the girl/boy from accounts.

Coincidently, I have an Indian contractor friend who does just this.

How nice if you get the food.

        I miss freebie food WFH.

What's wrong with the question, or implies "being mad?"

Having an argument with your partner over free food is a bit mad.

Eat as much as you can, bin the rest and suggest he not bring so much next time.

Is it? If your partner had 5 shopping bags full of smelly curry in the back of your car for 6 hours which you then had to find rom for in your bin you might not be best pleased.

Did he not ask his accountant?

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.
