He made an offer to buy the company when he was pissed/drugged up. He then tried to back out of the deal, was forced to continue, and now he's making the most of what he's got. Reducing costs, seeing what's viable, getting rid of what isn't.

He should've waited for the fire sale - Twitter was always going to go bust.

Why do you think Twitter were very happy to accept his bid and then forced him to go through with it.

my annoyance with Elon’s Twitter changes is like Google trying to get rid of legacy gsuite accounts - I can see what they are doing and why they are doing it but the other options available are worse.

Reminds me of the specialist semiconductor manufacturer with all those DEFSTAN, JANTX and MIL-STAN-883 qualifications* who had a downsizing and sacked "let go" the burnin dept.

Straight-talking doesn't mean being offensive and thoughtless. A good engineer doesn't spatter their thoughts onto twitter as soon as they have them, they consider their thoughts and then say them frankly.

The people who tend to defend the likes of Torvalds and Musk generally just want to excuse their own rudeness "they are just saying what they think"...

It's impersonation that's really the issue not parody. Misinformation not to mention scams.
