That's what Paul Weller thought in 1979!

Thought you were smart when you took them on
But you didn't take a peep in their artillery room
All that rugby puts hairs on your chest
What chance have you got against a tie and a crest?

We came out of it naturally the worst
Beaten and bloody and I was sick down my shirt
We were no match for their untamed wit
Though some of the lads said they'll be back next week

You'd say on the face of it this is just totally ludicrous but then look at the last few weeks, and months, and years of UK politics and the US too. At this point it's hard to rule it out - if it got to the Party vote with Boris as an option it would no longer even be that big a shock if he were to win.

A pantomime just in time for Xmas.

There are advantages to bringing Boris back.

          1) He has a mandate, so nullifying repeated opp calls for an immediate election.
          2) He may just pull the rabbit out of the bag one more time
          3) If he doesn't then he could at least reduce Labours majority to one which only the SNP could provide support, which would be deeply unpopular and wouldn't last long with Krankie demanding a referendum for every favour.

1)In what way? He was forced to resign and thus lost any mandate. He doesn't get it back if he becomes leader again IMO
2,3)Anyone might be able to do just about anything. How is he going to persuade all the disgusted Tory voters who wanted him gone that now they should vote for him?

It just reeks of the hard-line Tories being so detached from reality that they don't even see they are turkeys voting for Christmas putting in someone so divisive and tarnished. I don't even think the reasons Boris was forced out were good reasons (quite superficial) but the reality is he was and the wounds are still raw.

But at this point does it really matter? The election is lost.

Easy. Enough Tory voters have memory issues.
Tell them often enough that the only reason he was kicked out was because of a birthday party, and they will forget all the other reasons/parties/Pincher/Cummins/new hospitals/new homes/Lebedev/etc, etc
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

But to the general public, it WAS the parties. Like Hancock - nobody cared he was cheating on his wife, only that he broke the 2m rule.

JRM has launched the Hashtag #BorisOrBust

I think he means BorisXorBust, but his version is more correct.
