    So much money....

Apparently when the state pension was introduced people could actually live on it and didn't need extra handouts. Imagine that!

On the other hand, it's gone up a lot more than wages over the past decade or so.

I don't know what it says about my wife and I but we spend a lot less than £400/week (2 x state pension). NB. neither of us are Scottish or from Yorkshire.
Scoots still says that Apr 2020 didn't mark the start of a new stock bull market.

If you do own your own home its easy to survive on about £400 a week. Our pensions are likely to be more than that and we will travel more

Don't tell the Tories about this, they don't want people to survive in the long term. Expect state pension to be abolished and replaced with a means tested benefit.

You don't half talk a load of bollocks. Still, if it makes you happy...

Incidentally, afaic I paid for my state pension out of 45 years of income. I don't see it as any kind of handout.

You paid for everyone else's state pension out of 45 years of income, now you're hoping the ponzi scheme can survive long enough to recoup some of it

What about £200, considering many people on pensions end up single as their spouse dies
