A pint of beer in London could cost £13.98 in just two and a half years if current trends are to continue. New research suggests that other expenses could also see an eyewatering jump in price if inflation doesn't slow down. Come 2025, it is expected by this new research that a cup of coffee would be averaging at £4.44 and Uber journeys averaging at £26.
The current cost of living crisis is to blame for the recent price surges, coupled with rising inflation, consumers might need to prepare for their money to not stretch as far as it has done in the last couple of years. In the last five years, prices have climbed at their fastest rate since 1980, according to research from Penfold.
The top three things that have increased in price the most since 2017 are music concert tickets, meals at restaurants and Uber journeys. Most depressingly, beer prices are expected to rise again. This increase is expected to be larger than the 16pc it has already risen since 2017. It’s expected that by 2025, the average price of beer, for Londoners, will reach £13.98.
