Probably, but perhaps not if some of the candidates with little/no experience of scrutiny get through - there's a chance they will wilt, so may as well test it. -

I'm not sure. Given the fact we ARE having these debates, it gives people a rare opportunity to take part in a high-level debate in front of the nation (well those who are watching). Boris never did hardly any debates or interviews so it is good that people get to see the runners and try to "relate" to them - if that is possible.
Interesting to see if Kemi does well when no one knows of her. I reckon less than 1% of the population knew of her before this contest which is amazing really - now that she is '4th in line' to be PM.
Nick Clegg had a massive bounce post a TV debate.
