I suppose Hunt has been fairly blunt in his views in recent months which might get him some public support but not party.
Yes, unsure. Perhaps it won't even get to a party member vote - the parliamentary party could install someone, like May - but it probably will go to members.

Right-wingers have a strong advantage at that stage, but likely election winners even more so. But is there a likely election winner among them? Doubtful. Perhaps a hung parliament winner, at best.

Maybe we should put JRM in as interim just for a laugh.

I don't hate the country that much.

But apparently she is joint favourite with Sunak to be next leader.

            Penny Mordaunt - 4/1
            Rishi Sunak - 4/1
            Ben Wallace - 8/1
            Liz Truss - 8/1
            Nadhim Zahawi - 9/1
            Jeremy **** - 10/1
            Michael Gove - 25/1
            Dominic Raab - 28/1
            Priti Patel - 40/1
            Jacob Rees-Mogg - 80/1
            Nadine Dorries - 200/1
Maybe that is a good thing. She's not been tarred publicly up to now so a fresh face without the obvious baggage could be just the job. I'd probably vote for her over Sunak on that point alone.

Although you can't make much money on those odds so my 10k will be going on Nadine Dorries.

I like money better but I can see how that's a bit short termist in this situation.

If that's true, that explains much
