The Scottish border should be simpler than the Irish border. There might be practical difficulties (in terms of stopping smuggling), but in general terms you'd have a land border between 2 separate countries (similar to how Switzerland does it). The problem at the moment is that you either have border in the middle of the UK (between GB and NI) or between NI and the Republic of Ireland.

The two are very closely linked but not exactly the same. Many people vote SNP because the alternatives are just a bunch of clusterf***s but that doesn't mean they support independence.
Indeed. SNP has been gaining seats even as independence fervour has dropped because they are the "Scottish party" and there is growing frustration with Westminster.

Or a united Ireland within the EU.

Oh! Well geography was never my strong point. I'm surprised there isn't a movement for the Scots to reclaim their stolen land then

There is also a movement with in the Labour party which is pro independence even although the party as a whole is not. They want to see an actual Scottish labour party, rather then the branch office they have now, so that they don't have to follow the lead of a party desperately trying to appeal to more right wing english voters.

Yes, you're right. Their numbers of elected members in both Westminster and the Scottish Parliament would suggest the electoral doldrums are looming.
